HBC Innovation Academy

A Small, Inclusive Day Program Where Learning and Therapy Come Together

Ages 5–13 | Bloomfield, NJ

Some children need something different from a traditional school setting. Others need more than a traditional ABA clinic can provide.

The HBC Innovation Academy was created to offer another possibility. We are building a small, inclusive learning community with the feel of a microschool—where children can receive individualized academic instruction, develop friendships, explore STEAM, participate in meaningful real-world experiences, and, when needed, receive therapeutic and behavioral support as part of their day.

Children do not have to fit one particular diagnosis, learning profile, or educational path to belong here. We build the experience around the child—not the child around the program.

ABA Therapy at HBC

ABA Support Within a Real Learning Community

Holistic Brain Center provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and behavioral support for children who qualify, with oversight from qualified clinical professionals and individualized programming based on each child's needs. HBC was intentionally designed to feel different from a traditional ABA clinic. Therapy supports the child's life. It doesn't become their whole life.

Open To Everyone

The Innovation Academy is not exclusively for children receiving ABA therapy. Families may choose HBC because their child would thrive in a smaller environment, needs greater individual attention, learns differently, or simply feels more comfortable in a close-knit community. Different children. Different needs. One community.

Specialized Services

Additional Support When a Child Needs It

Occupational therapy (OT) and speech-language therapy can be incorporated into a child’s individualized program. Our goal is to provide opportunities to practice developing skills within the activities and routines where those skills actually matter.

Personalized Academics

Small-Group Learning

Children don’t all learn the same thing at the same pace. Our approach allows us to begin with each child’s current skills and build forward, strengthening foundational skills while developing a stronger relationship with learning.

STEAM & Innovation

STEAM is part of how we want children to experience learning. Students investigate questions, build, design, and experiment using technology to strengthen communication, planning, and persistence.

Beyond The Classroom

Swimming. Gardening. Community Experiences. Field Trips. Hands-on learning designed to help children develop confidence and independence in the world around them.

Competencies for Life

We intentionally create opportunities to develop the underlying competencies children need to become independent, focusing on communication and problem-solving.

A Dedicated Team

Depend on psychology, behavior analysis, and therapy professionals who build programs alongside families as partners.

Inclusive Community

We want children to experience belonging to a small community that genuinely knows them and challenges them to grow.

Is the Academy Right for My Child?

The best way to determine that is to start with a conversation. Tell us about your child—their strengths, interests, and what you hope could be different. Coverage varies by plan for therapy services.
